God's girl

Father's day just occurred this past Sunday.  It almost came and went just like any other day.  Father's day isn't nearly as celebrated as Mother's day.  I wanted to take the time this week to celebrate the fact that I am my daddy's little girl.
My father Greg Carroll is the most amazing man you'll ever meet.  He is funny and isn't afraid to be weird simply for the fun of it.  He is strong both physically and spiritually.  He leads our family to Christ and supports us without a second thought.  He seeks God in everything he does.  What I've recently more than ever before found to be amazing about my father is his love.  He serves and loves the people of this world in so many countless ways.  More impactful to me than that is his love for me.  His love for me has lead me to become so in awe of how deeply God loves me!  You see I always knew my dad loved me a lot, but it wasn't until I tried to face this life alone and came back to my parents broken that I realized how endless their love for me.  No one will love me more than my daddy does, except for my heavenly father.  It is all of this love that I don't deserve that amazes me.
Ladies, I know that for some of you father's days can be difficult for a variety of reason.  No matter what we can all stand in awe of the love Christ has for each of us individually.  Seek your heavenly Father!

As we grow into adults, we start to seek independence.  We start to believe that to thrive and be good at life we have to do it alone.  In many ways it is true.  As you grow into adulthood, there are lots of responsibilities that become your own.  That doesn't mean that everything is designed for you to handle it on your own.

A few years ago a simple statement changed my faith "Christianity isn't a religion but a relationship."  Upon hearing that my eyes were opened to a new side of faith and religion.  It all began to make sense.  We have been designed to do this with Him, hand in hand.

We must become like children!  I'd like to believe that I am still a four year old at heart.  In everything I do I sing a Disney song, I am often goofy for no real reason and randomly blurt out the weird thoughts or questions that come to my mind.  However, I still strive to be more like a child.  Children seek information when they don't know something they ask.  They truly live like nothing is impossible for God, because nothing is impossible for Him.  With God, there is no such thing as impossible.  As we navigate through this ever-changing world and learn what it looks like to be God' girls, we also have to remember to dwell in His love for us and understand that for Him nothing is impossible.  No matter how close you feel to Christ, you will go through trials.  The hard times strengthen us for the grand plan of our Lord.  Today may be the most difficult day of your life, and you may be begging for God to take you out of the situation or to take away the pain.  You are where you are for a reason, don't focus on leaving but instead on learning.  Christ is holding you at that moment, loving you to no end.

My earthly father loves me more than I can comprehend.  I drive him insane, I break his heart, I disappoint him, we disagree, we fight, and yet his love for me doesn't fade.  I will always be his little girl.  It is through him and his love for me that I become more overwhelmed by my heavenly father's love.  Christ loves us far more than we will ever comprehend.  Let live as Christ daughter's constantly in the embrace of His love.

Let's forever strive to be Daddy's little girls.
