Unitied
U'NITY, noun [Latin unitas.]The state of being one; oneness
Ladies, we are one, united. Togeather we can rise, but togeather we will also fall. We are so focused on being at the top that we ignore the people around us that support us as we rise. Without even realizing it we tear one another down to make ourselves feel good. Even if you have never said anything means to a fellow young lady. I can say without a doubt you've looked at someone and thought something along the lines "I'm glad I don't look like her" or you've picked out one of her flaws. We compare ourselves to one another to build ourselves up but it also tears us down. As Theodore Roosevelt once stated, "Comparison is the thief of joy." My dear sisters, why would we contribute to the loss of joy in one another? We all know the struggle to stay happy from day to day. How often do you look in the mirror and think "if I only looked more like ____"? How often do you miss out on the life around you because mentally you are being your worst bully and judging your every move? It's time to stop the madness.
There are three things we must start to do.
- Stop criticizing others
- Stop comparing yourself to others
- Uplift and stand united
The only reason we should ever look down on one another is to help each other up. As an Army women try to prove to the world that we need gender equality maybe we should show to the world that we deserve it. The problem isn't with the system it is with the players who are unwilling to exceed expectations and level up. Don't push your fellow lady down just so you can rise above her. Bend down and help her rise because togeather two can do far more than one of us can do on our own. It isn't a battle against one another. You don't need to prove you are smarter, more beautiful, or better than anyone around you. You just need to challenge yourself to be who you are created to be. Look to no one and wish you could be like them, only look at yourself and see in which areas you can improve. No matter how hard a cat would try it will never become a dog. Just like no matter how hard you will try you will never become the person you are comparing yourself you. You are meant to be yourself. Be beyoutiful!
Let's stand united!
Let's challenge one another to be the best we possibly can be. Let's focus on who God created us to be not who the world tells us to be. Let's strengthen the bonds of sisterhood and encourage one another because we all know that sometimes it's just something only we understand. Ladies, we are one, united. Togeather we can rise, but togeather we will also fall.
